YATRA BY ROAD
Haridwar - Barkot (210kms/ 7hr-8hr) HT : 1352 MTS.
Travel to Barkot via Mussoorie, with a stopover at Kempty Fall for a delightful lunch. Since there aren’t many dining options until Badkot, Kempty Fall makes for a perfect pitstop. Afterward, continue your journey to Barkot and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot {36kms Drive & 6kms Trek (One Side)} HT : 3235 MTS.
In the early morning, embark on a drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti, the starting point of your trek to Yamunotri, covering a distance of 6 kilometers. You have the option to trek, ride a horse, or use a Doli at your own expense. Upon reaching Yamunotri, experience the unique tradition of cooking rice by immersing it in the hot water of the hot kund, which is then taken home as “Prasad” by pilgrims. Offer “Pooja” to Divya Shila near the temple, take a dip in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund, and seek blessings from the sacred deity Yamunaji. Afterward, return to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot for an overnight stay.
Barkot - Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr) HT :1352 MTS.
Drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Vishwanath Temple & Others. Check in Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Night Halt.
Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4 Each Side) HT : 3048 MTS.
Set out early in the morning for Gangotri, making a stop at Gangnani to take a sacred dip in the purifying waters of Garam Kund. Continuing your journey, pass through the breathtaking Harsil Valley, renowned for its natural beauty, Deodar trees, and majestic mountain vistas. Upon reaching Shree Gangotri, immerse yourself in the holy waters of the Ganges, known as Bhagirathi at its source. Perform Pooja and seek Darshan, then take some time to unwind amidst the serene surroundings. Later, return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
Uttarkashi – Rishikesh (170kms/4-5hr)
Embark on a journey to Rishikesh, renowned as the ‘place of sages’, nestled along the banks of the sacred Ganga River and embraced by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. Legend has it that Raibhya Rishi’s intense penance led to the divine appearance of “Hrishikesh” as God, bestowing the area with its name, Rishikesh.
