KEDARNATH

Kedarnath Ji, often simply referred to as Kedarnath, is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Uttarakhand state of India. It is renowned as one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. The temple at Kedarnath is situated amidst the majestic Himalayan mountains, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The Kedarnath temple itself is an ancient structure, believed to have been constructed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century CE. It is built of massive stone slabs and stands at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level. Due to its high elevation and remote location, the temple remains inaccessible for a significant part of the year due to heavy snowfall and harsh weather conditions.

BADRINATH

The Badrinath Ji Yatra is a revered pilgrimage in Hinduism, focusing on the sacred temple of Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Badrinath is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and holds significant religious importance among Hindus, particularly Vaishnavites. The temple of Badrinath is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, amidst the scenic beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas. It stands at an elevation of about 3,133 meters (10,279 feet) above sea level. The temple is believed to have been established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century CE.

GANGOTRI

Gangotri is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. It sits at an altitude of about 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) above sea level. According to Hindu mythology, Gangotri is the place where King Bhagirath meditated to bring the River Ganga down to Earth to cleanse the sins of his ancestors. It's believed that Goddess Ganga descended to Earth from heaven upon the request of King Bhagirath and flowed through Lord Shiva's matted hair to soften her impact on Earth. Bhagirathi Shila, located near the Gangotri temple, is a rock where King Bhagirath is said to have meditated. Pandeva Gufa (cave) is another nearby attraction, believed to have been used by the Pandeva's during their exile.

YAMUNOTRI

Yamunotri is situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at an altitude of about 3,293 meters (10,804 feet) above sea level. According to Hindu mythology, Yamunotri is the place where the sage Asit Muni had his hermitage. It is also believed to be the birthplace of the Yamuna River. Legend has it that Yamuna is the sister of Yama, the god of death, and bathing in her sacred waters is believed to cleanse one of their sins. Surya Kund and Divya Shila are two important attractions near the Yamunotri temple. Surya Kund is a natural hot spring where devotees cook rice and potatoes to offer as prasad (sacred food) to the deity. Divya Shila is a rock pillar located near the Surya Kund, which is worshipped before entering the temple.
